"Parental Control"

Hey all, I'm covering some of the Hardwood Tournament this weekend.  Curious as to what you guys think about the parental control, or lack thereof, at some of these tournaments.

I realize it's one thing to get worked up about their children playing ball.  BUT, it's a whole different thing, IMO, when people "pack together" and yell so loud that even the players can't hear each other.

I also understand that when a ref gives a bad call, sure, you want to fight it.  But unfortunately, remember that the ref IS the boss du jour, and if he/she decides they want to remove you from the game, they can and will...and I've seen it happen!

Just curious what you folks think about the way the fans behave at these games...are you a screamer or a golf clapper?  ;)  What do you think of either or?

Welcome to TWBBC! Here's a Little More About Us.

Haven't heard of us?  Didn't think so.  ;)

My name is Kristi Howard, and I have 2 children (6th and 8th grade) who play on weekend basketball teams.

I created TWBBC in hopes of bringing attention to the youth of the Tulsa area who are playing their hearts out on these weekend teams, and would not normally be in the paper, as the papers tend to only cover 9th grade and up.

The blog will consist of tournament news such as upcoming dates and locations, results, and an opportunity for the fans of the blog to vote for players of the week.

Players of the week will be chosen by a nomination from TWBBC, and the player who receives the most votes at the end of the week will receive a prize from the advertising sponsor of the month in recognition of their hard work.

I have great plans for the blog, YouTube channel (posting videos and "sports news" style updates), and Facebook...I hope you become a fan, bookmark us, and stick around!

Please have patience as I am not completely up and running in the way of letting the tournament hosts and advertisers know about TWBBC...but definitely bookmark the site so you can be in the know as it grows!

Thanks!

Kristi
